The great Pyramid of Giza
The great pyramid of Giza, also called the pyramid of Khufu, is the oldest and largest of the pyramids, and the only remaining member of the 7 ancient wonders of the world. It is believed the pyramid was built as a tomb for the pharaoh Khufu. Constructed over a 20-year period around 2560 BC,the pyramid WAS the tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years. There are 3 known chambers right now: the unfinished chamber, the queens chamber, and the kings chamber. 3 smaller pyramids were built for his wives.
