The Versailles Palace

In French it is called chateau de Versailles.Versailles was a country village, now it is a suburb in Paris. In 1682 Louis XIV moved away from Paris and the Versailles palace, but was forced to move back in 1789. The court of Versilles was the centre (maybe meaning center) of power in ancient regime France, therefore famous not only as a building, but as a symbol of absolute monarchy that king Louis XIV expoused. The palace was also a military hospital and base during the Franco-prussian war. It would be the place where the proclomation of the German empire was created. Then finaily the Versilles treaty was signed here.
